Blender to Effect House -> struggling.. 😭

Hi all! I’ve been working on a project for a few days now and I keep getting stuck :sob:

I’m using the TikTok High Horse template, and replacing the mesh with my own made 3D character in Blender. I have the mesh slightly animated (30 sec), and all parts joined together in one mesh. When I export the file as FXB, the animation does not work.

When I look at the High Horse assets, I see the 1. the still 3D Mesh 2. Video animation, so I want to replicate those assets in Blender with my 3D character.

(The 3D character has armatures, key animations, and materials)

In Blender, when I export the file as FBX:

  1. The 3D character is imported into Effect House with it’s ā€œrest positionā€, not the ā€œdynamicā€ pose position.
  2. So to counter that, I ā€œapply armatureā€ and ā€œapply pose as rest positionā€, the rest position is set to the dynamic pose. Good right?
  3. Except when I import this file into Effect House, the 3D character mesh is fine, but the animation video of the character is not moving. Which makes sense, since I froze it with the ā€œapply armatureā€

It feels like the chicken and egg story.. I’m most probably doing something wrong in Blender, and since this is the Effect House community, it might be too technical. But perhaps I can get some feedback on the proper import files? I tried exporting the file as GLTF as well, but it separates the character mesh into the several parts (even though I joined it into one mesh in Blender)

Thanks in advance!

In case anyone else is stuck, I figured it out. Do not REPLACE the body (as the file says) but import your FBX file with the mesh and animation and drag&drop it IN the hierarchy. Move the scale, etc and your model and animation will appear.
